Post Office History

There have been many many changes

over the years!

Do any of you have any old photos and memories of the Shop? We would love to hear from you!

Steve Ware, Neil Brailsford and Vernon Frost joined forces in July 2007 to purchase the Village Store & Post Office situated in the heart of Stanwick village. They combined their talents to try and transform the little shop into a community hub that would serve the village in years to come.

Work quickly started to renovate the tired 'old girl' and soon the exterior of the shop was stripped back to its original stone work and more suitable paint colour palette was chosen to compliment the village surroundings. Immediately the village was aware of changes happening and the encouragement has been incredible both of folk near and far.

During these early months, work also started on updating the Post Office counter which now is bright, light and welcoming. More works have happen since, as the saying goes:- 'you can't make a cake, without breaking an egg'!

No matter what organised chaos is going on in the shop, you will be assured of a warm welcome and good old fashioned service!
